Our gaffer Sian Osmond looks back on a big victory at Hounslow in the FA Women’s National League on Wednesday night. Here is what she said…

Sian, a hard-fought victory here at Hounslow tonight. How do you reflect back on the match?

“You have got it spot on. It was a really tough evening. Credit to Hounslow because they made it really tough for us.

“We had to make a few changes for the midweek game, which made it slightly harder.

“Complete credit to all the girls tonight. Not every win is going to be pretty and I will take an ugly 1-0 win all day.

“They have gone out and done what we have asked from them at half-time which has secured the three points.”

There were many changes before the game and at half-time as you mentioned. You have got to give credit to the girls for playing with the same fight and determination as they have done across the past few matches?

“We have had to make changes at half-time. It is a massive credit to the character of the girls that have been involved because they have given 110% for us. They have still worked incredibly well.

“Hounslow made us work for it though as they pushed us right until the final whistle today.”

Nikki Jancey popped up the winner today to score her third goal in two matches since joining. You must have been impressed with her performance tonight?

“This is what we brought Nikki into the Club for. We know that she is prolific and we are so excited to see what else she can offer.

“I am sure that she is going to continue to grow and get stronger as the season goes on. Nikki has been fantastic for the first two games that she has been with us.”

The defence also played a big part in tonight’s win. We were really resilient to the challenges that Hounslow threw our way. What did you make of their display throughout the match?

“They have defended really well and have had to fight and scrap for it tonight. Parker Dunn was absolutely superb during the 90 minutes.

“The way that they have battled to calm the squad down when required was fantastic and exactly what was needed tonight.”

We have just recorded back-to-back victories after beating Hounslow 1-0 here tonight. Both wins have been very different from each other which surely gives us a lot of momentum going into the next few fixtures?

“We just want to build up some momentum which is tough because the games will come thick and fast.

“We are aware that a lot of players have played a lot of minutes recently, but we have to rely on the squad-depth which is what we have used well tonight.

“It is massively important that we use the positive energy that is currently in the dressing room to carry on through until Sunday.”

Looking ahead to Sunday, we’re back at The Hive London to take on Chichester City. What are you expecting from this one?

“We know that they are going to be really tough opponents and are aware that they have got some really good results recently.

“It is going to be another hard-fought game and we know that they have got some really good technical players in the squad.”
