The Bees earned back-to-back away wins after battling to a 2-1 win away at Crawley Wasps in the FA Women’s National League.

It was the visitors who opened the scoring in the 24th minute when Jo Wilson netted her third goal in two games.

Sian Osmond’s side stole possession in Crawley’s half and ran straight through the opposition before playing it to Wilson.

The prolific striker caught Jaqui Goldsmith out of position with a piece of skill before chipping the ball into the far corner of the net to take the lead.

It was only three minutes later when the Bees hit the back of the net again, after Jade Bell was brought down by Goldsmith in the box.

Courtnay Ward-Chambers stepped up and calmly sent the penalty into the bottom right corner to double the lead.

The hosts responded and pulled one back on the stroke of half-time after Rachel Palmer delivered a corner into the centre of the box.

Ellie Russell rose highest to send a towering header over Faye Hazelton and into the back of the net.

Hazelton was called into action in the 80th minute as Crawley continued to mount the pressure in search of an equaliser.

Iesha Swaby found space to fire goalwards and force the ‘keeper into a good low save.

In the closing stages, the Bees showed resilience before Wilson almost put the game out of sight as her volley was punched clear by Goldsmith.

Shortly after, the Bees’ No. 39 rounded Goldsmith before striking her effort narrowly wide of the near post after she was played through on goal.

The Wasps pushed in search of a late goal, but they couldn’t find a way through – leaving the Bees to take all three points back home to The Hive London.
