Bees defender Georgia Robert was left feeling proud of her teammates despite our cup exit at the hands of Women’s Super League side Everton.

Robert and the rest of the team had to defend resolutely throughout the match but put in a performance to be proud of as they ran the Toffees all the way to the final whistle.

Georgia’s thoughts on the game

It was a tough one, the surface was very sandy so that definitely changed things. I am super proud of the girls today, every one put in an absolute shift for the whole 90 minutes. It was just that last minute in the first half, it was a cracking goal from them to be fair, but we were fully in the game from start to finish. We looked strong, played strong and got into every tackle. We got our passes in, it was just an unlucky one today.

On the improvement of the side against WSL opposition

It’s a loss so we’re not thrilled at a loss, but you have to look at the opposition, they are full time, a league above and doing really well in the league above.

We played well and that performance means a lot to us.

On her pride in the performance

Defending starts from the front, so if your strikers are on it that transcends throughout the whole team. Sarah had a cracker so I’m dead proud of her.

We cleared I don’t know how many off the line, so that was a top effort from the defence. It was a top effort from the midfield and strikers as well. It was a good team performance.
