Bees number seven Lauren Pickett was delighted to have netted the winning goal in the 2-1 home win against Coventry United yesterday (Sunday 8th.)

Pickett scored an outstanding solo goal in the 40th minute, as she danced through the United backline before rounding the keeper and slotting home to the delight of the Bees faithful.

Pickett, however, wanted to focus on what the goal means to the team collective, rather than take any individual accolades.

“The team performance was really good, we had to work really hard at the end of the game. Obviously, it was really nice to get on the scoresheet and win with the team”

Lee Burch’s side have won two of their first three FAWC matches and Pickett hailed the atmosphere in the dressing room as a key contributing factor to our start to the season.

“The atmosphere amongst the girls is really good and we are all really pleased (with our start to the season), we will keep doing our best to keep it going now.”

“I want to try and score as many as I can for the team and keep working hard for the team. We have to work together as a team and I want to keep providing for this team”
